Speaker's Podium

  • Erica Zamora is now in the OMSA office, she announces that they have a retreat coming up over Fall Break called Mustang Intersections which is all about diversity and leadership. 
  • Jake Torres introduces himself as the Student Rep. to the Board of Trustess, Mr. Torres was the Student Body President of the 2010-11 academic year. He encourages anyone to reach out to him with any concerns on campus, sjtorres@smu.edu. 

Old Business

  • You guys are already aware of S-103-3 from last week's skim. The bill is about communication with the senate and accountability.

  • The student website is live! Yay! And senate skim is being updated every week! Don't worry we know you can not wait to read about what goes on in the chamber every week so we are sending the skim every week straight to your inbox! 

Diversity

  • The fish fry will be this Friday and voter registration will be held. 
  • Working with Embry Human Rights Program to bring a speaker on for cultural awareness. 
  • Working on the gaps of greeks, non-greeks and multicultural frats and sororities. 

Announcements

  • Work it for Wishes a fashion show that raises $$ for the Make-a-Wish foundation. Last year Chi-O raised $150k and granted 15 wishes. The event will be held on Wednesday October 5th, you can buy tickets from Claire Hemerling or anyone in Chi Omega.
