Student Senate Directors
Directors are appointed Student Senate leaders who oversee specialized operational or strategic areas within the Senate, manage projects and initiatives aligned with Senate priorities, and work closely with officers and committees to ensure efficient execution of programs, communication efforts, and administrative responsibilities.
Current Standing Directors
Leads campus initiatives to prevent sexual assault, collaborates with Residential Commons and Greek leadership to promote safety and education, and oversees campaigns that challenge sexual violence and harassment.
Advocates for students with disabilities by working with campus leadership and supporting initiatives that promote accessibility and inclusion.
Advances diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts within the Senate and across campus in accordance with established Senate guidelines.
Coordinates and supports official academic ceremonies and traditions in alignment with Senate policy and university standards.
Promotes student health initiatives and wellbeing programs that support the physical and mental wellness of the student body.
Leads and promotes sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing SMU’s environmental impact and supporting environmentally focused organizations.
Organizes and promotes House of Representatives meetings to keep student organizations informed and engaged with Senate updates and campus changes.
Oversees voter engagement initiatives and civic programming to encourage active participation in local, state, and national elections.
